Maria Auxiliadora Castillo Soto is in her third year of her PhD at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry (ICON) at the Faculty of Humanities of Utrecht University. She is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Project titled European Literatures and Gender from a Transnational Perspective (https://www.euterpeproject.eu/). Within this project, she analyzes how the Idea of Europe is re-imagined through transnational life stories written by women from the Global South based in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
